Hollywood star Adam Sandler was inspired to make a film in Ireland as he jogged around a park just hours before the premiere of his latest movie.

The comedian turned actor flew in to Dublin for the opening of You Don’t Mess With The Zohan and vowed to come back to work in the capital.

“I’d love to work here,” he said on the red carpet outside the Savoy cinema. “I went for a jog in the park earlier and I was thinking it would be great to shoot a movie here. It’s just beautiful, I love being here. I’ve no idea what yet but I’ll think about it for next time I’m here.”

Despite the grey skies and summer showers, hundreds of fans lined the red carpet on Dublin’s main thoroughfare to catch a glimpse of the actor, his co-star Rob Schneider, and a host of famous Irish faces.

“I’ve been here before but it’s my first time getting to hang out and have fun… by staying up late,” continued Sandler. “I’m not sure where I’m going yet, but I’ll get some Guinness right after this.”

In the film, Sandler stars as Zohan, an Israeli commando who fakes his own death in order to pursue his dream of becoming a hair stylist in New York.

Unlike his character, Sandler said he has no desire to change his successful career as an actor, writer and producer. “I’m in trouble if I didn’t have that. I really don’t have any other skill,” he said.

“But being an athlete would have been good. I’d wouldn’t have minded being a little taller or tougher, I wouldn’t mind being a boxer or something. That would be fun.”

After his break in the Emerald Isle, the star returns to the recording studio before welcoming a new addition to his family. In May, Sandler revealed that his wife, Jackie, was expecting their second child.

“I’ve been taking breaks and hanging out with my first baby, and now the new one is coming,” he added. “When I finish another movie I’ll be hanging out with them both.”

I will be posting all the Adam Sandler videos I have onto the media archive. It will take me awhile though. Right now, I just have his TRL appearance and MTV Movie Award performace on it. Online retailer HDAddicts.com is reporting Sony’s You Don’t Mess with the Zohan starring Adam Sandler will be available October 7 on Blu-ray Disc, most likely day-and-date with DVD.

Zohan joins a growing family of October 7 releases including The Amityville Horror, Carrie and Young Frankenstein, all being planned per DVDEmpire.com, as well as The Omen Collection and Warner’s Otis and Rest Stop films.

Due to the early nature of this news and lack of an official announcement from the studio we don’t have any technical specs or extra feature news to share. Rest assured all will be revealed in the days and weeks ahead.

You Don’t Mess with the Zohan will carry an SRP of $38.96. Keep checking back for updates including cover art and full specs.

Some of the biggest names in rock saluted the Who last night (July 12) with performances during a taping for VH1’s “Rock Honors” at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, but the biggest thrills were delivered by the honorees themselves. The event will air July 17…

…The taping also included comedian Adam Sandler’s version of “My Generation,” plus bits from “The Office” star Rainn Wilson, who impersonated Elton John’s character Local Lad from “Tommy.”
